Additional Fundraising Opportunities
SHOP WITH SCRIP
We’re pleased to share some exciting news about a new fundraising program for our organization.  It’s called “scrip”, and it’s the fundraising program that works while you shop.

Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers.  They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store.  Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including JCPenney, The Gap, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster and many, many others.

You’re probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money.  It’s simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount.  Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue.  And scrip is exciting, because everybody wins:

The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business…You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling…Your account gets a regular source of revenue.

The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our school without spending a single additional penny.  Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program!  And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out.

Each family’s purchases will be credited to a student account for their own child.

  • Log into www.shopwithscrip.com<http://www.shopwithscrip.com/> Click on Family registration.
  • Your non-profit's enrollment code is: 14F86B9617329.
  • Fill in the information for new customers.  Use the enrollment code above for our music boosters.
  • Be sure to register for Presto Pay.  We do not handle any money on our end.  Everything is paid through the website.  Please do this ASAP so that they can verify your bank information.
  • Once everything is entered in you will receive two very small deposits from your bank. Once they have been verified on-line, you will be ready to order.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.

You can email me at: shawc@battelle.org

Thanks for your participation!

BATTERIES PLUS
As you may be aware, one of the Olentangy Music Boosters fundraising opportunities is the Batteries Plus monthly “Secret Shopper” visits and phone evaluations of their five stores, which are located at:

        8593 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center
        5010 N High St, Columbus
        4514 Cemetery Rd, Hilliard
        5960 Scarborough Blvd, Columbus
4681 Morse Road, Gahanna   (New Location)

This involves a monthly in-store “Secret Shopper” visit, as well as monthly telephone calls, to all five stores.  While the store visits can be conducted by different individuals, the five monthly telephone calls need to be conducted by one individual.

Effective December 2009, the Music Boosters Board decided to credit the funds to individual student accounts.  Each in-store “Secret Shopper” visit receives $20, and each monthly phone evaluation receives $15.  Also, for any items purchased during an in-store visit, the student's account will receive a “refund” of the difference between the purchase price of the items purchased and the store cost of the items purchased.

If you are interested in earning funds for your student’s account by conducting one of the monthly in-store “Secret Shopper” visits at one of the Batteries Plus locations, or by conducting all five of the monthly phone evaluations, please contact Roseanne Price, at (740) 548-6380, or at pthomas669@aol.com.  This opportunity will be made available each month on a first-come basis.

Thank you for your support of the Music Boosters!
